What do you get when you combine 32 years of teaching elementary school with over 30 years of playing music? -- A pretty amazing school assembly.
 
Geff knows a few things about what kids like - and they love his music.
 
As a teacher of 32 years, Geff played music and sang with kids virtually every day of his career. He performs assemblies and class presentations for all grade levels from pre-school on up, and for any size group.
 
In a typical school assembly or classroom program, Geff will play guitar, banjo, fiddle, mandolin, ukulele, jaw-harp, autoharp, and sing selections from his huge repertoire of kids' songs and stories.

Geff really knows how to keep kids engaged and involved, singing along with his eclectic and humorous repertoire. Mixing old favorites with quirky, newer treasures, Geff also writes kids' songs (rather irreverent ones) - & even does a magic trick or two!
 
The one criterion that Geff looks for in a song is that kids LIKE it. He knows how to keep kids focused, and he has excellent success getting kids to sing along, even those oh-so-sophisticated 6th graders!
Geff has a B.A. in mathematics from UC Berkeley, and an M.A. in education from Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan, served for two years in Teacher Corps in Michigan, then taught elementary school for 32 years in Amador County, California. He retired in June 2006. He is a regular performer at the Strawberry Music Festival and at the Festival of American Fiddle Tunes, teaches fiddle in connection with the California Bluegrass Association Music Camp, and plays regularly for concerts, dances, fundraisers and private parties.
 
Geff's assemblies support California education content standards for grades K-6 in Visual and Performing Arts: 1.0 Artistic Perception, 2.0 Creative Expression, 3.0 Historical and Cultural Context, 4.0 Aesthetic Valuing, and 5.0 Connections, Relationships, Applications.
